Curve Master Giveaway

***GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED (6/24/2010).  THANKS TO ALL WHO ENTERED***

Yay!  It’s a Giveaway!

Sandy Chandler at Just Curves, Home of the Curve Master Presser Foot is  sponsoring the very first giveaway here on Wedding Dress Blue.  I am so pleased to have her and to tell you a little more about this fun gadget.

The Curve Master is good for sewing curves, of course.

But also straight and perfect 1/4″ quilters seams.  See that little bar on the right?  Can’t go wrong.

Just Curves also carries various templates and instructions to make cutting your curved quilt as easy as sewing it with your new Curve Master Presser Foot.

So, this is the giveaway.  Leave a comment (maybe asking a question about Curve Master or letting me know how you feel about sewing curves) and get an entry to win a Curve Master Presser Foot of your very own.  This is open to international readers, too.  Everyone can use one of these great presser feet.

Yes, I would love it if you decided to be a follower of my blog or add me to your blog list, but you don’t have to. (OK—I’m asking, please.  I am a new blogger and appreciate the visits and encouragement.)  Yes, it would be great if you would tell others about the giveaway and have them stop by, but you don’t have to.  (But, please, again.) To keep it simple this time we are doing one entry per person.

The giveaway will be open from now until Thursday, June 24.  I will draw a winner and announce it on Friday, June 25. If you leave a no-reply or no e-mail address, you will not be a winner.

But, the Curve Master people have been so generous that everyone can be a winner of sorts.  Everyone who orders a Curve Master Presser Foot and Seam Roller between now and July 4 can have included FREE in their order the all important Bent Tip Tweezers, good for perfect seam endings and keeping your fingers away from the needle (ouch!).  Just go to their site, shop and then checkout and pay via paypal, via the website. Do not put the tweezers into their shopping cart, but request them by adding a note to the order. You even get them without any additional postage.  Ta-dah, you will have a Curve Master and all the fun to go with it for your very own.

Thanks for visiting and entering. Good luck.

  1. My first attempt at a real quilt was a Drunkards Path. I finished an entire twin quilt top, but it was nowhere near flat enough for my beginner quilting skills and sadly never finished. Long gone now, but I have several curved-piece quilts on my wishlist. I’d love to try this tool.

    And welcome to my blogroll!!

  2. I fear curves. Totally. Completely. I love curves in quilts, and always feel like I should muster up the courage and just DO IT. I have even purchased (at some cost!) templates for curved piecing, and they sit in my sewing room and gather dust because I FEAR CURVES. This thing might just be the trick that I need – I watched some videos about it, and it looks like it really works! Does it work on every machine, or is there a low shank/high shank issue?
Thanks for the heads up on the tweezers, too!

    • The Curve Master Presser Foot comes with five different shanks and is guaranteed to work on your machine. There are both low and high shanks and I had no problems.

I no longer fear curves. I wouldn’t call myself a curve expert at this point, but I am not a curve coward either.

  3. I am still afraid of curves! They took so long the one time I attempted them. I am excited to go check out the website and maybe order a foot for myself!

  4. Oh – I have just got one :(
….but its really :) …I am hoping to get a Drunkards Path done…at some stage…when I am able to…. Now back to being good…and resting some

  5. I haven’t tried a Drunkards Path (yet) but have “tried” to sew curves for a different pattern. And I agree with Sandie…..mine was not flat enough either. Drat!! Hopefully this new tool will do the trick!

BTW – I really like your blog!!

  6. I would love to win this nifty little foot. I think it would give the the encouragement and confidence to make a curve-pieced foot. Thanks!

  7. i haven’t even ever tried a curved anything..but this sounds like it would do the trick–with a little patience..if i don;t win it—ahem!!!!– i will just have to buy one..always wanting to try new things..i know curves are old things but it would sure be new to me!! thanks for the info…

  8. Oh I needed this when I was making the NYB blocks. I would love this presser foot to make the Drunkards Path quilt.I have subscribed to your blog. Thanks to you and Just Curves for this wonderful giveaway.

  9. Anything that would help me sew those curves would be most appreciated !

  10. Great giveaway!!
I have been wanting to try out this foot.
You know you are already on my blog list, you have such a wonderful blog!! I’ll be sure to mention your giveaway on my blog too! ♥

    • I haven’t heard of the curve master before and don’t know anything about how it works, but I do like to put curves in my quilts. Nice giveaway!

  11. I got on a few years ago-but it is cracked and would love to have one again- I think I cracked it with the need mis aligned….I can’t remember, but I was so frustrated! Thanks for the chance to try again, Sandy

  12. I hope that I could win, then I might buy the die for my GO! from Accuquilt. I wouldn’t be affraid to attempt to sew the curve…..I promise.

    Chris

  13. I would L.O.V.E. to win this great little gadget!!! My friends call me the “gadget queen”, I love anything that helps with my sewing!! Curves is something I have dodged trying, I even have a book all about sewing curves but I have never attempted even a small project. If I had a curve master I would master curves!!!!
Thanks for the chance to win!

  14. Seems like someone who loves circles as much as I do should have one of these feet! Might also be a good 1/4″ foot for my featherweight? Looks like it would work. I don’t really like the 1/4″ foot I have for my featherweight and am shopping for another. I bet my little baby would also sew great curves with the foot!

  15. Deanna, what a wonderful giveaway! I have not tried curved piecing as yet due to being a newish quilter but what a excellent encouragement. Love reading your blog.

  16. I sew a lot of curves (especially New York Beauty’s) but have never tried this foot. I’d be very interested to see how it works.
    Great blog!

  17. I’ve been wanting one of these! I could finally attempt Drunkard’s Path or any of these newfangled quilt patterns with the quarter-circle pieces…

  19. This might be just what I need! I keep trying curved patterns only to get all frustrated and then I move on to something I know I CAN do! ~karen

  20. Wow, what a fabulous giveaway! I’ve never heard of Curve Master before, but it would be a wonderful tool to make those curves that I have resisted. Thanks for entering me.

  21. I am a beginner and with this tool I can sure improve. thank you. hugs from italy

  22. I always only get to admire curved patterns….with this cool gadget, I might actually get to try to make one! Thanks Deanna for hosting this giveaway and Sandy Chandler at Just Curves for the cool giveaway !
p.s. I’ve just added weddingdressblue to my side bar :)

  23. I love curves! Have made pie pieces with English paper piecing, drunkard’s path, double wedding ring, all sorts of curves! But this would make life so much easier! An I am going to be your follower/friend. Keep up the great work

  24. I have never done curves

  25. I love multi-purpose gadgets! Is it for high shank and low shank machines?

Curves…A seamstress must do curves! Breathe deep and go for it! That’s my motto.

    • It comes with several adapters and is, as I understand it, guaranteed to fit your machine. Apparently, although I haven’t tried it, it will also adapt to a 5/8″ seam allowance.

Of course you, seamstress woman, need one.

  26. Oh, I think I need that foot. I see a double wedding ring quilt in the future.

  27. First of all, thank you for doing this giveaway! I have done one Drunkard’s Pathway quilt, which you know is all curves. I had to pin, pin, pin! So, I would love some magic in the form of a Curve master to help me! I am a follower!

  28. OOOh, Curves…very very scary. I’ve got shivers just thinking about it. Really though, it is one of those things I do avoid it all just seems too complicated.
After reading about the Curve Master it does sound as though it could make life a lot simpler and I just might get the guts up to try a curve with one of these.

  29. Oh wow this sounds fantastic I would love to try it
I have seen some beautiful quilts with curves but I have not been game to try so this would be amazing please enter me in the draw
    hugs Beth

  30. Oh, this would be great! I don’t sew much, but I know this would help me out!

  31. Great give away!!!

I have never sewn any curves in my quilts….. but I think I may have to give this new “toy” a try :)

I will blog about it for you….

  33. I’ve considered getting this foot several times. Since I haven’t gotten around to cutting out my small drunkard’s path quilt, it hasn’t been a priority, but if I were to win, that would certainly motivate me to move that quilt up the list!

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

  34. i have not sewn curves, but i’d like to start for making clothes. thanks for hosting the giveaway!

  35. Thanks for the giveaway!

I have a quilt design idea that incorporates curves but I’ve shyed away from it for that very reason. I would love to win this and see my idea played out somewhere besides my head, lol.

  36. madamquiltsalot

I have just discovered this blog and have joined as a follower, just starting to discover all the beautiful things here. Thanks for letting me join.
I would love to win the curvemaster. I have tried curved piecing but have always found it easier to piece them by hand, so maybe this is just the gaget for me, thanks for a chance to win.
    Linda ~ Madamquiltsalot

  37. The curve is something next on my to do list. I really like your blog.

  38. Bessie Grahmann

Hope this new gadget would give me the courage to try the Drunkard’s Path. Great giveaway to introduce a new gadget on the market.

  39. I would love to win this. I shy away from curved projects because I struggle with them. Thank you for the chance

  40. Wow! What an amazing giveaway. I would use the curve master presser foot ALL the time. It looks like a mini miracle. :)

  41. I avoid curves like the plague. Maybe this would give me the push I need to get over it!
    jill.stemple (at) gmail

  42. Sounds like a cool little gadget. I would love to have neat, nice curves since that doesn’t happen very often :-) . Thanks for the giveaway!
    jmhamlin826 AT yahoo DOT com

  43. What a great new gadget. Certainly would save time and aggravation. Thanks for giving one away.
    bveinotte@juno.com

  44. dakotaessence

I’ve heard this is also good for piecing straight seams too–at a perfect 1/4 inch. Looking forward to the drawing.

  45. The curve master sounds awesome! I hope it works on my machine!

  46. Nancy Sue Phillips

Holy Cannoli, I am so intimidated by curves, that the Curve Master may just be the gadget that gets me to jump into a curvy project!! Thank you for hosting this giveaway. I didn’t know this little guy existed :)
    Nsue21702 at gmail dot com

  47. I have always wanted to try a curve master foot but was afraid it didn’t work. Now it sounds like there is no reason for me not to get one if it works as good as it looks. paweis at yahoo dot com

  48. What a great gadget. I’m doing a double wedding ring with lots of curves by hand at the moment. Just imagine how much faster it would be being able to put it together by machine!

  49. I can’t sew a curve to save my life. Not that I sit up at night worrying that I might actually need to sew a curve in order to save my life, but,…well, it could happen :-)

There are many patterns I just pass over as soon as I see a curve. Oh, I might drool for a few seconds, imagining how beautiful the quilt would look on my guestroom bed, but then I quickly turn the page. I know I am a complete failure at curves (I don’t even have a noticeable waist myself anymore!). If this product could cure me I’d sing about it all day long (well, at least on Monday’s at my quilting guild workshops).

Thank you and good luck to everyone!
    Dee

  50. I would love to win this. I am awful at sewing curves. They end up so distorted. Ugh. Thanks for the giveaway.

  51. I was delighted to learn that this foot would work on all of my machines. I admit that I avoid curves when designing a quilt so I hope that this handy gizmo will give me the push I need to try something different than just sharp angles.

  52. Great giveaway! Is the foot compatible with all machine brands. (I’m a new blogger too so I know how it is. I just added you to the blogs I’m following!)

  53. Hi – thank you for the chance. I am a new quilter and could use all the help I can get! :) Colleen

  54. Hope I’m not too late to enter. I’ve been busy with my son, making bookmarks using your tutorial. I’d love to win this gadget. Haven’t tried curves yet so this would be a great incentive to do so. I’ll certainly add you to my blog roll. Thanks for a chance to win.

  55. Oh wow …what a great foot. Many years ago I attempted a Drunkards Path block …I completed it, but I still remember all the ripping out I did!

  56. The curve Master sounds awesome! I’m a little bit afraid of curves but the curve master makes it sound like even I could do it. Im new to quilting but im loving it!!

  57. Oh my goodness! I am terrrible at sewing curves so I’ve avoided it as much as I can – until now! I would definitely give the Curve Master a good home. I hope it would work on a low level Bernina. Fabulous giveaway! Thanks so much.

  58. I just put on a scalloped binding and I think that would have helped a ton!

  59. A quilter can never have enough toys… and anything that makes my sewing look better is a great toy.

    thanks for a chance

  60. Love gadgets and hope I win! Thanks!
    debgiro at wildbue dot net

  61. That sounds so interesting. Anything that makes fiddly bits of sewing easier is for me! Keep up the good work with your blogging. I’m not brave enough to start my own!

  62. I avoid curves so much that I’m even doing a Dear Jane without them…thanks to my new friend applique. LOL! Curved Piecing is on my list of things to learn this year with a larger block than the 4.5″ I’m currently working with. If you have any tips/tricks/toys to recommend for a newbie I’d appreciate it.
    Happy Quilting,
    Heather

  63. I have seen these feet alot and heard great things about them!
Just gotta get them off my “to get” list and onto my “have” list : )
    Great giveaway!

  64. Ooooh! I am going to be starting my first quilt that is 64 big circles – this would be soooooooo helpful! :)

  65. Great post! I wish I knew about this earlier, the giveaway is now closed :(
