Charm Squares Giveaway WinnerS!

There were so many of you  interested in the charm squares, I couldn’t pick just one.  So, I put together a second charming pile.

The winners are:

Auntie Vic:

That Fading Charms quilt is fabulous, it caught my eye and now I want to make one. 100 free precut charms would get me on my to making one of my own. Thanks for the give-away opportunity.

Laura:

I’m in the process of collecting and cutting charms, this would be so helpful!

My thanks to all of you for playing along. Hopefully, with the tutorials everyone gets a little something.  And there are more tutorials coming, which means more giveaway chances.

Thank you for your kind support of Wedding Dress Blue.

Charming Giveaway

***THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED***

Tutorials are worth celebrating.  And what better way to celebrate than a giveaway? Even if it is only a small one.

This time I am offering a collection of about 100 unique charm squares (or at least I hope they are unique).  So, you will receive 100 different 2-1/2″ squares.  They can round out your collection or get you on your way making Fading Charms .

To enter just leave a comment.  I would love for you to be a follower too, but a comment is all that is necessary.  The giveaway will be open until Thursday, March 29 and the winner will be notified and announced here on Friday.

Thank you for your enthusiasm for my scrappy-happy projects.

A Pin Winner

I was surprised and pleased that so many of you were interested in the Utah Quilt Guild pin that I offered to share. Too bad I don’t have more of them!

But, since there is only one, it is being mailed off to:

Kris

Who said,

“Oh, wow!!  I love this pin!!  I live in St. George, Utah taking care of my 94 year old Dad and my International Siggie block has a beehive on it with little bees swarming around!!  This would bee a wonderful addition to my collection!!  Thanks for this opportunity!!”

Enjoy! Another giveaway coming soon to celebrate Fading Charms, a new pattern in the works.

PS–Do any of you have 2-1/2″ charms you would like to share/swap? My husband might find this surprising, but I don’t actually have 750 unique fabrics.

Pin Interest? A Little Giveaway

***THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED***

Is anyone out there a pin person?

I mean collector pins.

This little beauty came my way, but needs a new home where it will be better appreciated.

The pin is 1″ square and in like-new condition.

If you want it, leave a comment to let me know.  If there is more than one response by Friday, February 24, I will let random chance select the lucky new home.  Oh, and I might throw an extra goodie or two in the package to make it worth the postage.

So, leave a comment.  No following required. But, that is appreciated, of course.

Potholder Winner

Congratulations to Carol who said,

“ Love the print.  I have two birdhouses that my late father made sitting above my kitchen cabinets! “

Thank you all for being kind about the little tutorials and giveaways I share here.  And, for reading regularly and being supportive and helpful in my sewing endeavors.  I truly appreciate it.

I am sorry to say that I do not have another tutorial and giveaway planned for next week.  Maybe sometime I should see how many weeks in a row I could pull that off, but not during Sewing Season.  Yes, the Christmas Sewing Season is upon me and it isn’t only potholders.

Have a great weekend and I’ll be back on Monday with things to share.

GIVEAWAY: String Pieced Potholders

As long-time readers know, I like to celebrate tutorials with giveaways.  My feelings about giveaways are a little mixed, but by pairing them with tutorials I sort of get to feel like everybody, each of  you nice people, gets a little something.

Anyway, that said, since I posted a String Pieced Potholder Tutorial, here is the accompanying giveaway.

Two string pieced potholders made by me for  you, generously sized at 8″ square. One side is a really interesting bird and birdhouse print of unknown vintage.  It came to me in a scrap bag with no identification.  While the colors are a little unusual, I really liked the beauty and detail of the print.  The reverse side is  string pieced with coordinating colors.  Each is lined with triple layers of cotton batting.  The binding is machine attached on one side and hand-stitched down on the other.  No loops (sorry) because I never hang my own potholders.

The rules are simple.  Leave a comment.  Followers are of course particularly appreciated, but casual passers-by are also welcome.  The winner will be selected  on Friday, November 4 and announced here on Saturday, November 5.  Good luck! and thank you for supporting Wedding Dress Blue.

Giveaway Winner

Lynn is the lucky winner of a crochet potholder.  She said:

I love crocheted potholder/dishcloth/thingys! I’d love to win one. If I don’t win, I may need to just make myself one. It’s about time I learned a new crochet pattern anyway.

Well, Lynn.  You are spared crocheting for the day.  You can see if you really like this pattern first.

If any of you would like to make one of your own, see the TUTORIALS section above.

Thanks to all who read Wedding Dress Blue.  I really appreciate you spending some of your time on my little blog.

Just so you know, another tutorial (and giveaway) is coming up next week.  Stop back by if you have a chance. It’s just another little thing, but one I am glad to share.

Giveaway Time

Since I posted a new tutorial, it is time for a giveaway.  Now, some of you might not need a crochet hook case, but if you want one, let me know and I will include it in the giveaway.

For everyone else, the giveaway is a Crochet Pot Holder made using my tutorial.  Nothing special, I guess, but it is cotton and quite sturdy and made by me for you.  If you would like this one, just leave a comment.  Of course, I appreciate followers and regular readers of my blog, but a comment alone will get your name in the Random Number Generator Hat.  The giveaway closes Thursday, October 27 and the winner will be announced here Friday, October 28.

Thank you for supporting my efforts here at Wedding Dress Blue and Good Luck in the giveaway.

300 Post Winner

Thank you to all who entered my 300 post giveaway.

Up for grabs was approximately one pound of 2-inch fabric squares.

Whew!  That is a lot of squares.

And, our lucky winner is….

MARY JO who said, “Congratulations on your 300th post.  I love your 100 patch quilt and would love to win your giveaway.  It would be a wonderful start to a quilt of my own.”  Well, MaryJo, there you have it.  Enjoy your squares!

I hope you all feel like you won a little something with the 100-Patch Quilt Tutorial being offered to everyone.  I really wish I could do something more to show how much I appreciate your visits and support.

But, please consider visiting again.  In the next few months I have several ideas to share and usually have a giveaway (mostly just scraps) for each one.  The next time should be around July 22 as part of the Desperate Housewife Quilt (see sidebar).  I have designed a block just right for that scrap pile.  Think 1 1/2″ strips.

One Pound Giveaway

One more chance to enter the 300 post giveaway.

Up for grabs is approximately one pound of 2-inch squares that you can use for any project of your choosing, or for making your very own 100-patch quilt.

Make sure to leave a comment HERE to enter.

Winner will be announced Tuesday.

Thanks for reading Wedding Dress Blue.
