Scrap Basket Sensations: First Impressions

It is here!

Scrap-Basket Sensations: More Great Quilts from 2 1/2" Strips

Scrap Basket Sensations by Kim Brackett, that is.  Scrap Basket Surprises, her previous book, gave me a whole new attitude towards scraps.  Rather than viewing them as a necessary evil, they have become a sought-after treasure and, as I wrote yesterday, something I spend a little time at on a regular basis.

Scraps are a real and cost-effective basis for creating beautiful quilts.  Whether your tastes are traditional or modern, you are sure to find inspiration here.

As with most recent publications, the majority of the 18 quilts shown in this book are throw size.  Two are twin size.  However, because of the nature of Kim’s concise, clear directions, you can use a single block, make a wall-hanging or tablerunner, or a queen-size quilt with ease.  If you are using pre-cuts or width of fabric pieces, the directions are clear, or, if you are a true scrapper, she includes directions by individual cut.

I am so excited to get started on a project or two from this enticing book.  The first problem is deciding where to start!  I have my trusty box of 2-1/2″ strips ready.
