Not My Usual Style

When Daughter and I went to the Home Machine Quilting Show (www.hmqs.org) there were so many amazing quilts, well over 300, that it was nearly overwhelming.

As we wandered around I was surprised to find myself admiring some of the art quilts.  That is not my usual style, but there were examples too good not to earn a second look.

I hope you will enjoy them, too.

  1. wowowoow!!! i cannot imagine all the work in them…i would never try it…and in fact most of the time i do not even like them but you have picked out a good selection of very pretty ones to show us…i love the hummingbirds with flowers..

  2. They are beautiful! I often admire quilts I have no intention nor desire to emulate. =) I’d like any of these hanging in my home, but not enough to make one myself!

  3. I am always amazed and in awe of the art quilts. They are truly paintings done in fabric by very, very talented people. I would never try one on a large scale but have made one very simple one when I joined the art quilters group here in town. I got the tut tut for that one and didn’t go back more than a few times. I just wasn’t “arty” enough. Thanks for showing us those beauties.

  4. Wow! Some of those quilts are just breathtaking, and I can hardly imagine the time and effort that must have gone into making them!

  5. I love the first one! It is like a quilted fairy tale. The more you look at it, the more things you see. Thanks for sharing these with us.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. It is nice to hear from you.
