Fading Charms FINISHED

Ah, two quilts finished in two days.  See what can be done when there is a little time?!  Don’t expect a finished quilt every day for the next two weeks, but wouldn’t that be delicious?

Instead, here is the second finish of the break, and probably the last for the year:  Fading Charms.  This is the original Fading Charms quilt.  You can make your own by using the TUTORIAL  above.

Barbara quilted it in an allover swirly pattern.  I asked her to quilt it fairly tight as I was worried about the weavers cloth background fabric tending to fray.  Hopefully this will hold it together for many years of service.

The back is a large, bold floral.  It was just on hand.  I don’t even remember where it came from.  But it seemed to belong to this quilt.

So, there it is…Now, what to work on today?

  1. The finished product turned out well! The curly quilting design against those square pieces is a nice contrast as well as holding the fabric together. And what a fun, bright backing!

  2. HI,

this is version of Fading charms which is Christmas gift to my dear, dear friend. I used 2,5″ charms from PSQS from which was organized by Mary, the Curious quilter.

Thank you so much for your pattern, Film at five would probably be my next project. Wishing you and your family Merry Christmas and Happy New year

    Greetings from Croatia,

  3. I so love these quilts – I am cleaning up my sewing room after the whirlwind of holiday sewing and looking at all my bits and feeling overwhelmed – then I come here and remember “oh yeah – they will look gorgeous in this!!!”
