Quiltalong Alert: Star Kissed

Your response to Star Kissed was so kind!  Thank you!

I am still sewing along on blocks.  There are 8 of them now.  And I still like them a lot.

So, here’s the deal:  If you find this project interesting, start gathering squares–1-1/2″ or 2″ or 2-1/2″.  Whatever makes you happy.  I will shortly produce a quiltalong that will make a quilt using that size.  It has been a while.

Come, sew along!

  1. Thank you so much for doing this for us! I am really excited. I love Star quilts. And a way to use my scraps—that is a win-win for me. Looking forward to it. Thanks again.

  2. Oh boy. I already collect pieces of fabrics cut to these sizes. I can see the freight train heading right toward me, and I can’t get off the tracks. This QAL is going to roll right over me and I’ll have to participate. Thanks for the warning. At least I can get a few deadline projects out of the way. ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. Good morning. Where can we find the tutorial for Star Kissed? Thank you, Cindy Nelson

  4. I promised myself I would not join in on QAL or Mystery Quilts in 2020, but I love this block and it would fall in using my stash, another promise I made with myself! Hmmm. Okay, I’m in. May not keep up, but I’m in!

  5. Yesterday I said, “No more new Good Ideas I can’t pass up” and along came this one to use all those 2 1/2 in strips I have made trying to organize 50 years of sewing leftovers…..So yes, this one adds to the mix of must do this year!

  6. Ready to start whenever you are ready! I have a life-time supply of 2.5 squares that need a home in a quilt. I may even start making the 5 x 5 centers for these stars as I work on other projects.
Thank you for the upcoming quilt-a-long. Looking forward to it.

  7. Awesome! I can’t wait. I have a box with 2.5″ squares and another with 1.5″ (remains from a postage stamp quilt.) It will be nice to use them. I have pieced quite a few into 4-patches, using them as leaders and enders, so part of the piecing is already started.

I hope you provide dimensions for the various sizes everyone will be using.
