Sparkle Jane (Daughter) wanted to try out a new technique–foundation string piecing.
She using the tan as a constant diagonal line in the blocks, adding random strips of controlled scrappy colors as she went along.
Narrow sashing between the blocks finished it off.
She enjoyed the technique, but didn’t love the colors. But, it was worth finishing, and it is finished, and that (as we all know) is good.

Love this quilt. I made my 1st foundation scrappy string quilt last year and want to make another – I loved the process and seeing it all come together 🙂
It is so pretty. She did a great job with the colors.
She did a wonderful job, and the colors will be just right for someone, I’m sure! I think it looks very attractive.
She did a good job and it is a fun bright quilt for someone to have quilty love wrapped around them.

I love your quilt. I made one once with fabric sample pieces of fabric. They were older (maybe fabrics from the 50’s) and it’s every color. It’s one of my favorites, and I’ve had many comments on it. It certainly is one of a kind!
I really like the pattern of it.
I was totally captivated with Janes usage of white shashing between each quadrant. I also noticed how, if when foundation piecing a quadrant that the longest strip is lighter in color working darker colors toward that tiny little point piece, then it is buffeted with that white sashing, it creates a VISUAL SPARK. Have decided from now on, when foundation piecing like theses, I will always working lighter down to darkest, & sash it, or work it in reverse with a dark sashing.
