Sparkle Jane Is Now A Mrs.

Well, despite dire weather, the wedding was a success.

And they are very happy.

If you look at that last photo you can see the snow starting to drift on the right.

We all made it home safe and sound and they are in the process of moving.

Thank you all for your kind wishes.

ps–If you are wondering about the Hearts Desire(d) wedding quilt, I am still accepting blocks through the first week of April. Then assembly will begin. No, it is not too late. (Let’s all be honest, plenty of weddings have happened without quilts being finished.)

  1. Happy Sweet picture of two beautiful kids.
Congratulations mom and dad and to the new couple.
Yay for snow storms! They always make things interesting and memorable…

  2. Plenty of weddings have happened without quilts at all, so you have a leg up there! =) It’s so wonderful to think about her happiness. I’ve been thinking about her new life all week.

  3. So glad you were able to have the wedding despite the bad weather! Best wishes to the happy couple (and to their parents)!

  4. My son’s wedding happened without a quilt. At her shower I gave my future DIL a pillow with a single block on it so she’d know it was coming. Took several more months before it was done and I had to ship across country. My first and only double wedding ring! And my hubby and I were married in a snowstorm in Feb 1977. The honeymoon in Toronto was crazy as they had twice as much snow as us (and MUCH colder!) but we all survived and it was fun. Best wishes to the couple!

  5. I’ll try to get on that this week. Got a new sewing machine, haven’t unboxed it yet. Can’t wait to get back to some sewing. Been too idle lately during covid period, but it’s spring & I need to do some sewing & get the juices flowing again. Got way too much fabric sitting around here, not getting utilized being stored in containers. thx, Barbara

  6. Yippee! So glad they were able to get married and even more that everyone made it safely home afterward. My blocks will be in the mail to you this week for sure. {{Hugs}} Congrats to the newlyweds. ~smile~ Roseanne

  7. Congratulations to the Happy Couple. Here’s a funny story for you. My Mother decided to crochet a bedspread for my hope chest. Boy does that date me! Anyway I was 7 at the time. I tried to help her make the blocks when I got older. No way, her blocks were way to tight for me to match! I got married when I was 23 and we got the spread on our 5th wedding anniversary!

  8. Oh Congratulations! Another one married. So happy for you all. Wasn’t that a cold one… Our son and family came down from Oregon a couple days after that.
I’m sure it will be done before you know it.
Hope they had a safe move… wagons west…
Isn’t it nice to know that you have so many ways to communicate with them… not just letters that (back in pioneer days) might not make it to the receiver.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. It is nice to hear from you.
