UFO Giveaway #6: Cardinal In The Pines

***THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED.  THANK YOU TO ALL WHO ENTERED.***

Recently I inherited part of a quilters stash.  Much of it was received with joy.  However, not all of it is things that I will use in the near future.  These UFO’s deserve a home where they will be loved and used.  Like YOURS!

Giveaway #6 is a Cardinal In The Pines quilt kit.  The pattern says finished size 65×77 but there is much more fabric included.  Maybe enough for the backing, too.  Some fabric has been cut and a few blocks stitched, but mostly unused.

If this is something you would love, please leave a comment below.  I will draw a winner Saturday, December 6.

If you can afford to help with postage, that would be great.  This should fit in a medium priority mail box, which costs $14.35.  I will get it in the mail as soon as possible after the end of the giveaway.

UFO Giveaway #4: Scraps, Blocks And Yardage

Pre-Loved Quilt WINNER

The winner of the pre-loved quilt is Nancy.  She blogs at https://wyomingbreezes.blogspot.com/  and really does live in Wyoming.  Also, a retired teacher.  I hope she will love the quilt as much as I have.

There were so many entries for this giveaway that I plan to do it again next time I redecorate a space.  Quilters “get it” and I know the quilt will be taken care of.

Thank you all.

Pre-loved Quilt Seeks New Home: A GIVEAWAY

*****Nancy is the lucky winner.  This giveaway is now closed*****

The O-Kaffe top is a flimsy–pictures coming soon.  To celebrate our redecorating adventure, I have decided that our previous throw quilt and pillows deserve a new home.

It is a This and That quilt by Aunt Em’s Quilts.  I built it while pattern testing for Emily in 2012.  The quilt finishes at about 56″ x 73″  Included are the covers for three matching 14″ throw pillows (not the forms–too bulky to ship efficiently).

Here is a picture of how they looked in our room.

The quilt has been loved and washed, I think, three times–it just came out of the dryer for this picture.

If you would like this quilt to come and live at your house, please let me know in the comments below.  The giveaway is open until this Saturday night, August 5.  I will notify the winner (determined by random drawing) and announce it here on the blog Monday morning.

Maybe it is strange to give away a pre-loved quilt.  But if you don’t mind having one that is pre-loved, I am happy to share it with you.

Sew Sweet Simplicity: Block Two

***Comments now closed.  A winner has been selected***

Wow!  A month has flown by.  Most of my sewing time has been invested in the memory quilt project, but it was easy to set aside a little time for Sew Sweet Simplicty:  Block 2.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

And here they are–two of them.

I plan to make two each of the six blocks Jacquelynne designed and set them in a design of my choosing (still to be finalized).

If you haven’t signed up already, you still can.  Just stop by the Art of Home and let her know you want to be part of the fun.

In the meantime, you can leave a comment here to be in the drawing for another great GIVEAWAY.  Jacquelynne is offering copies of several of her patterns.  Yay, us!

The giveaway will run through December 1.

That’s about it for now.  I am off to do some more sewing.

It Has A Name: Window Box

Thank you so much to all who submitted name ideas for my most recent creation.  More than 60 suggestions were shared, and I definitely know where to turn  for inspiration any time I need it.  Thank you all!

Husband got the final word on the subject.  I showed him the list and the quilt and asked, “What do you like?”  He selected….

WINDOW BOX

I love it!  It really fits the quilt.  A special thank you to Denise and Maxine and  for making the suggestion.  While I didn’t say I would do this originally, I am sending a little thank you gift along.  It is the least I can do.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I am working on a tutorial now and should have it ready by the end of the week.  Thanks to you all again!

Sew Sweet Simplicity BOM Preview

***GIVEAWAY CLOSED***

WINNER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED

SEE YOU BACK HERE NEXT WEEK WITH THE BLOCKS!

Just to get you really fired up, Jacquelynne is sponsoring a Blog Hop showcasing the many variations being created based on her Sew Sweet Simplicity BOM pattern.  Yes, I am one of those lucky people.  Yay me!

SewSweetSimplicityBOM

While I loved the pattern, the color scheme didn’t meet my needs right at the moment.  What do you think of these colors instead?  I pulled all sorts of dark blue, green, brown and gold fabrics to make a scrappy, masculine quilt.  The background is a creamy off-white.  I am so excited to see the blocks come together.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

You can join us.  Just visit the Art of Home to sign up. The first block pattern will be released October 27–you have time.  Just sign up and decide:  Do you want to make 4 blocks or 6?  Or, like me, make a couple of each and create a larger quilt?  (We’ll see how that turns out as we go along.)  And, there are more fun decisions to make:  Do you prefer straight piecing?  Applique?  Embroidery?  Yes, there is a variation just for you.

And giveaways, too.  Books, fabric, thread–who doesn’t need more of those?! In fact, let’s have a giveaway RIGHT NOW.  Jacquelynne is sponsoring a giveaway of her patterns–which are wonderful.  Leave a comment to get your name in the hat for a Digital Pattern Bundle worth $40.   I’ll draw the winner Monday, October 20, only a week before this great sew along gets started.
