Safe Haven Alternative Finish Celebration: GIVEAWAY!

**THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED**

Now that the Safe Haven top is complete, and I have fabric set aside for binding, I am ready to find a new home for the rest.

Leave a comment by the end of the day on Saturday, July 17, 2021 to enter for a chance to win a COMPLETE PATTERN SET and ALL THE FABRIC YOU SEE HERE. It isn’t enough the make the quilt, I’m sure, but it is a good start. You could easily add other Thimbleberries or Repro fabrics to complete the project.

I will notify and mail the prize off to the lucky winner early next week.

Enjoy!

Recently I inherited part of a quilters stash.  Much of it was received with joy.  However, not all of it is things that I will use in the near future.  These projects deserve a home where they will be loved and used.  Like YOURS!

Pre-loved Quilt Seeks New Home: A GIVEAWAY

*****Nancy is the lucky winner.  This giveaway is now closed*****

The O-Kaffe top is a flimsy–pictures coming soon.  To celebrate our redecorating adventure, I have decided that our previous throw quilt and pillows deserve a new home.

It is a This and That quilt by Aunt Em’s Quilts.  I built it while pattern testing for Emily in 2012.  The quilt finishes at about 56″ x 73″  Included are the covers for three matching 14″ throw pillows (not the forms–too bulky to ship efficiently).

Here is a picture of how they looked in our room.

The quilt has been loved and washed, I think, three times–it just came out of the dryer for this picture.

If you would like this quilt to come and live at your house, please let me know in the comments below.  The giveaway is open until this Saturday night, August 5.  I will notify the winner (determined by random drawing) and announce it here on the blog Monday morning.

Maybe it is strange to give away a pre-loved quilt.  But if you don’t mind having one that is pre-loved, I am happy to share it with you.

Sew Sweet Simplicity BOM Preview

***GIVEAWAY CLOSED***

WINNER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED

SEE YOU BACK HERE NEXT WEEK WITH THE BLOCKS!

Just to get you really fired up, Jacquelynne is sponsoring a Blog Hop showcasing the many variations being created based on her Sew Sweet Simplicity BOM pattern.  Yes, I am one of those lucky people.  Yay me!

SewSweetSimplicityBOM

While I loved the pattern, the color scheme didn’t meet my needs right at the moment.  What do you think of these colors instead?  I pulled all sorts of dark blue, green, brown and gold fabrics to make a scrappy, masculine quilt.  The background is a creamy off-white.  I am so excited to see the blocks come together.

You can join us.  Just visit the Art of Home to sign up. The first block pattern will be released October 27–you have time.  Just sign up and decide:  Do you want to make 4 blocks or 6?  Or, like me, make a couple of each and create a larger quilt?  (We’ll see how that turns out as we go along.)  And, there are more fun decisions to make:  Do you prefer straight piecing?  Applique?  Embroidery?  Yes, there is a variation just for you.

And giveaways, too.  Books, fabric, thread–who doesn’t need more of those?! In fact, let’s have a giveaway RIGHT NOW.  Jacquelynne is sponsoring a giveaway of her patterns–which are wonderful.  Leave a comment to get your name in the hat for a Digital Pattern Bundle worth $40.   I’ll draw the winner Monday, October 20, only a week before this great sew along gets started.

300 Posts And A Giveaway

***GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED.  THANK YOU TO ALL WHO ENTERED***

Well, two big events suggest it is time for a giveaway.

First, this little blog has reached 300 posts.  Some of you have been with me nearly every inch of the way.  Thank you.  Some of you are brand new.  Thank you, too.  It is very encouraging that anyone takes the time to read this stuff.

Second, I posted a tutorial, the 100-Patch Quilt (see yesterday’s post or click TUTORIALS above).  The last few tutorials, I have had a giveaway to get you started on a project that you might want to make using the tutorial.

What to give away this time?

Well, it has to be 2-inch squares for  your very own 100-patch quilt.

It will just be an assortment, about 1 pound worth.  Sorry, cute container not included.

So, if you would like some (quite a few, really) 2-inch squares, just leave a comment.  I would love it if you were a follower, but that is not required.  Just leave me a comment and I will draw a lucky winner Monday night and announce it Tuesday morning, July 12.  Good luck!

ps–If the 100-patch seems a little much for you, I have a different idea using 2-inch squares coming up soon, possibly in August.  So, you still might want to start cutting 2-inch squares out of your scraps.  Just in case you don’t win.  But, then again you might…

Thank you again for being part of my blogging life.  Deanna.
