No baby, not even a grandbaby, but the scraps were begging to be something for a baby.
So, I “had” to make a baby dress. It has been a long time since I sewed this small, but I really enjoyed it.
For now it will hang in my sewing room until the right baby comes along. It is about 12m-18m size. Any suggestions?
Sew small, sew much easier, sew much fun!
That is just the cutest thing! Some little girl will look just darling in it!
I’m hoping, wishing, praying for a grandbaby someday too, but we can’t seem to get the kids to even think about marriage! I’ve got a few baby quilts stashed away for those future babies, but now you’ve got me thinking about dresses! Absolutely sweet and such fun to make! How’s that saying go…build it and they will come!
That is so cute! With the little matching pants especially adding to it, some mother is going to be thrilled.
Love it…what pattern? I have a baby granddaughter after a long run of grandsons!
I am so sorry, but there is no pattern. I used a standard sleeveless bodice for an 18 month old and then designed the skirt to fit the fabric. Same with the buttons on the front and the contrasting band at the waist. I can tell you, though, that the skirt finished at about 15″ long and was 60″ wide before gathering.
Some baby girl will look precious in this. I almost wish I had one to dress in it. But those days are long gone.
Perfection!
Darling little dress – and look at those cute knickers!
Darling dress! Do you have a pattern that you could share? I have 2 yr. old twin granddaughters and thought I would try sewing some clothes. There are only so many quilts you can make!! I have just finished a dress/top with shorts and would like to try something else. Your baby dress looks do-able!

Sweet little dress. Hang on to it…you’ll know when the right baby will need it.
Pretty little dress—-love the diaper cover! I know that the “perfect” little baby girl is out there, just look around you!
By now the right baby has come along or you donated it! YIKES! My suggestion would be to now add a matching bonnet.
